Ashbourne 2nd XV had a comprehensive win over North Kildare seconds, running out 39 points to nil winners, running in 6 tries. With John Gavin, Cathal Field and Ciaran Glennon, back from a long injury layoff, it was a strong second's team. Glennon contributed 2 tries, but another player returning from injury for the first time this season, Ken Bolster, was the man of the match, starting at outhalf. He put in an excellent performance supported by a rampant pack.
Other try scorers were Kelan with 2, while Shane Rock and Tom Middleditch pitched in with one a piece. Barry O'Neill contributed 3 conversions and penalty. Also to show well was Darragh Hanratty in the centre.
